Naturalistic Double Modals in North America

Double modals are a well-known non-standard feature of some regional varieties English in North America, but due to their rareness spoken language, questions remain as the inventory possible combinatorial types and geographic extent use contemporary naturalistic speech. This study investigates double Corpus American Spoken (CoNASE), 1.2-billion-word corpus time-stamped geolocated automatic speech recognition (ASR) YouTube transcripts from United States Canada. modal sequences were identified using regular expressions, then verified via manual examination videos.
